“I love Mickey Mouse more than any woman I’ve ever known.” - Walt Disney
“We are not trying to entertain the critics. I’ll take my chances with the public.” - Walt Disney
Only intended to be a temporary area opened in 1988 as part of “Mickey’s 60th Birthday Celebration,” Mickey’s Toontown Fair was originally called Mickey’s Birthdayland and, shortly thereafter, Mickey’s Starland. In 1996, new attractions were added and it was decided to make Mickey’s Toontown Fair a permanent fixture inside of the Magic Kingdom. There is no better place on the planet to get autographs and pictures of your favorite Disney characters than at Mickey’s Toontown Fair and there is even a Goofy roller coaster, designed just for the little ones.
Mickey’s Toontown Fair Secrets
The barn that is part of The Barnstormer at Goofy’s Wiseacre Farm ride at Mickey’s Toontown Fair was once actually a building that housed a petting zoo in this part of the park. The “star attraction” of the petting zoo was a cow named “Minnie Moo”, who had a birthmark on her shaped like Mickey Mouse.
On the ping pong table inside of Mickey’s Country House at Mickey’s Toontown Fair, there are two paddles in the shape of Mickey Mouse’s and Donald Duck’s heads. There is a third one on the shelf that is shaped like Goofy’s.
