There are few buildings in the world that are as well-recognized as Cinderella’s Castle. A camera rarely leaves the Orlando vacation area that doesn’t have at least one picture of this magnificent structure, which represents the Disney Imagineers’ concept of a French palace-fortress. Cinderella’s Castle is the centerpiece of the entire park with magical lands branching off from it down paths, like spokes on a wheel. Measuring 189 feet high, Cinderella’s Castle is the tallest building in the Magic Kingdom theme park.

Cinderella’s Castle Secrets

• There is a stone railing running along the walkway approaching Cinderella’s Castle that has a pattern of inverted circles on it. When the sun shines just right, images of Mickey Mouse are projected onto the pathway leading up to the castle.
   
• Inside the main hall of Cinderella’s Castle, hang five huge mosaic murals that tell the story of Cinderella. Each one of these murals is fifteen feet high.
   
• If you stand in front of the image of Cinderella and bow, you will notice that the crown painted on the wall behind her suddenly appears to go onto her head. This is supposed to depict the entire story of Cinderella in just a moment.
  
  
• Throughout the day, you will frequently find various Disney characters milling about, unannounced, near the rear of Cinderella’s Castle. This can be a perfect opportunity to snap a great picture of your Orlando vacation.
   
• No Orlando vacation is complete without seeing at least one of the nighttime shows at Walt Disney World. Be sure to catch Tinker Bell’s flight as she makes her way from the top of Cinderella’s Castle every night, signaling the start of the spectacular fireworks show. Her more than 700 foot trip ends in Frontierland.
