China Pavilion

Perhaps the most intricately designed building in the World Showcase at EPCOT Center, the experience at the China pavilion is one to be slowly taken in and savored. Be sure to make note of the landscaping, which is typical of the casual, non structured gardens and ponds that can be found in China. Also, don’t forget to look up as you enter the China pavilion. The finely crafted tiled and gilded ceiling is truly something to behold.

Reflections of China is the Circle-Vision 360º film that is now playing in the Hall of Prayer for Good Harvest at the China pavilion. The film; which is shown on nine screens that envelope the audience, makes Orlando vacationers feel like they are actually in China, with spectacular scenes of Shanghai, China Exhibit Beijing, Mongolia, the Forbidden City and The Great Wall that fill the room.

Land of Many Faces is a wonderful exhibit at the China pavilion featuring the people of the various Chinese ethnic regions.

At the Yong Feng Shangdian Department Store, visitors may purchase a variety of wares from China including furniture, silk clothing and scarves, kitchenware, jade figurines, rugs and paper fans. Many people leave this China pavilion store with a memento or two of their Orlando vacation.

The Nine Dragons Restaurant is not only the best Chinese restaurant in all of Walt Disney World, but it is considered to be one of the finest Chinese restaurants in the entire Orlando vacation area. You will definitely need to make reservations first thing in the morning if you would like to eat at this “formal” sit down China Entertainers dining room that offers both well-known and exotic dishes from throughout the various provinces of China. For lighter fare, guests may visit The Lotus Blossom Cafe; a counter service restaurant at EPCOT Center’s China pavilion, offering items such as stir fry, egg rolls and fried rice.

At various times throughout the day, The Dragon Legend Acrobats perform in the courtyard and Si Xian performs folk music from the Shanghai region in the Temple Of Heaven at the China pavilion. Check your park map for show times so that you can get a picture of two of these acts for your Orlando vacation photo album!
