Kennedy Space Center - Exhibits

At Kennedy Space Center, there are a wide variety of interesting and interactive exhibits that are sure to quench your thirst for knowledge about the world’s leading space program. Some of the highlights are:

Rocket GardenRocket Garden: This area gives Orlando vacationers the opportunity to explore the history of space travel from its beginnings. Here, you will see the Redstone, Atlas and Titan rockets that were used to propel the first NASA astronauts into space. Visitors will also have an opportunity to climb inside Mercury, Gemini and Apollo space capsules and experience for themselves what it must have been like to travel and live in the incredibly tight quarters.

Astronaut Hall Of FameU.S. Astronaut Hall of Fame: Here, Orlando vacation goers will experience exhibits that include the world’s largest collection of personal astronaut memorabilia and a variety of realistic astronaut training simulators. Some of the remarkable exhibits include Wally Schirra’s Sigma 7 Mercury spacecraft and the Apollo 14 Command Module. Visitors can see if they have the right stuff by climbing aboard the G-Force Trainer or feel what it is like to walk across the moon. Other simulators allow Orlando vacationers to ride a rover across the surface of Mars or try to land the space shuttle.

Mad Mission to MarsMad Mission to Mars: Children usually site this zany show as their favorite thing at Kennedy Space Center. The thirty-minute presentation is hosted by two wacky rocket scientists; one even nuttier than the the other, in a lighthearted look at what it would be like to go on a mission to the red planet. An animated floating robot named WD-4D and a variety of props and gags are sure to have the youngsters rolling on the floor with laughter as adults roll their eyes and shake their heads at the silliness of it all.

Space Shuttle PlazaSpace Shuttle Plaza: This exhibit gives Orlando vacationers the chance to experience what life is like on the space shuttle. Here, they will enter a full-size replica of the Explorer space shuttle and see the flight deck from which the shuttle is flown. Also, visitors will be able to check out the Mid-deck, where the astronauts live and perform experiments.
