Bird Gardens: This area of the theme park has more than 500 birds flying and roaming about freely. See parrots, flamingos, swans and more. Don’t be surprised if a peacock or other exotic bird walks across the path in front of you here. Also be sure to fly over (sorry) to the Wild Wings of Africa live show where you will learn about some of the many birds of prey and see them in action. After the show, you can talk to conservation educators and learn more from them one-on-one.
Edge of Africa: This 15-acre attraction takes guests into the teeth of the lions’ den. The scenic walking tour re-creates the habitats of Meerkats, Hippos, Hyenas, Baboons, Crocodiles, Lions and more. You’ll never want to be closer to some of these ferocious animals than you can get here!
Rhino Rally: Climb aboard a 17-passenger Land Rover and experience this off-road safari river adventure through the wilds of Africa. African Cape Buffalo, Elephants, Gazelles and of course, White Rhinos are some of the African animals “in the wild” that can be viewed on this wild and bumpy ride.
Serengeti Plain: Whether viewed from one of the many walkways, the Serengeti Express Railway, the SkyRide, or on the Serengeti Safari, this is perhaps the highlight of the animals section of Busch Gardens Tampa Bay, Florida. This 65-acre area features the lush vegetation and rolling terrain that is typically found in the natural environments of the hundreds of exotic African animals seen roaming here. Zebras, Giraffes, White Rhinos, Wildebeasts, Antelope and more can be seen, no matter which method you choose to view them from.
Myombe Reserve: Amidst veils of mist and dramatic waterfalls, the Chimpanzees and Gorillas of Myombe Reserve can be found. You will never encounter another exhibit that allows these fascinating creatures to be viewed in a more realistic setting or as closely as you will get here.
